Established in 1990, the Mechanical Engineering Department offers courses in B-Tech and M-Tech suiting to the requirements of modern industry. The department presents a nice blend of courses focusing on recent development in engineering and technology with special emphasis on design, thermal technologies, production processes, automobiles and CAD/CAM. The department has well furnished labs: CAD lab, CAM lab with CNC machines, Heat & Mass transfer lab, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning lab, DOM lab, Materials and testing lab, Mechanics lab, Fluid Machinery lab, Machine Drawing hall, Automobile lab, Measurement and Metrology lab, Power plant lab, Manufacturing Science lab, Applied thermodynamics lab and the workshop with welding, machine, forging, sheet metal, carpentry and fitting shops. The CAD lab has all the design softwares like Solid-Works, AutoCAD, Cadian, Ansys, Pro-E etc. Under the guidance of the Head, Dr Sanjay Agrawal; the department is fully centred in the all round development of students. All the faculties are hard working and provide full support to the students. Mechanical Department faculties have more than 50 international and national papers published in various conferences and journals. The faculties have also tied up with international and national research projects. In the session 2010-2011, the pass-out students were placed in the leading organisations such as BARC, ISRO, ONGC, IOCL, NTPC, NPCIL, BEL, Delhi Metro and in private companies like Jindal, Lohia, L&T, Tech-Mahindra, etc.

Equipped with Universal Testing Machine, Rockwell Brinell Hardness Tester, Impact Testing Machine, Muffle Furnace, Fatigue Testing Setup, Optical Microscope, Profile Projector, etc.
Equipped with models of fire tube and water tube boilers, 2 stroke, 4 stroke I.C. Engines, steam engines, etc.
Equipped with CNC lathes, drilling, milling, grinding machines.
Equipped with working models of Gyroscope, Vibration Tester, Governors, Clutches, Gears, Brakes, Different Mechanisms, etc.
Equipped with models of gear pump, hydraulic turbines, Ram, hydraulic jack, Wind tunnel, centrifugal pumps, etc.
Equipped with working apparatuses of different type of heat exchangers, conductive and convective heat transfer coefficient determination, Stefan Boltzman constant, different type of fins, radiators, etc.
Equipped with BHP Test setup of two and four stroke engines for efficiency determination, different type of automobile gear box, working model of electrical system of automobile, working model of pneumatic gear system, Automobile Engine and other parts of Car,etc.
Fully air-conditioned lab equipped with latest softwares like AutoCad, Cadiian, Solidworks, Ansys, etc.
It has following shops :

- Sheet-metal shop
- Welding shop
- Forging shop
- Carpentary shop
- Machine shop
Equipped with models of worm wheel, gears, flywheels, parallelogram law verification apparatus, etc.
Equipped with Once through boiler and turbines. Power plant is of thermax brand and fully working model.
Equipped with sand muller, sand moulds, sand strength testing machine, sand baker oven, etc.
The departmental library has over 1200 books to facilitate the students. Students have the facility to read the books and they can also get books issued as per requirement.
